Our Pet Policy
At The Grand Caymanian Resort, we believe every member of the family deserves a vacation—including the four-legged ones! That’s why we proudly welcome well-behaved dogs and cats to stay with you during your island getaway. With spacious suites, open green areas, and nearby beach access, our resort is the ideal destination for pets and their people.
Pet-Friendly Accommodations
Several of our suites are designated as pet-friendly and include all the comforts you and your pet need for a pleasant stay:
- Studio One Queen Bed: 500 sq ft with a queen bed, sofa bed, kitchenette, and a furnished balcony or patio, accommodating up to three guests.
- Studio Suite – Two Queens: Spacious layout with two queen beds, kitchenette, and a furnished balcony or patio, accommodating up to four guests.
- One Bedroom King Suite: 900 sq ft suite featuring a king bed, sofa bed, full kitchen, and a furnished balcony or patio, accommodating up to four guests.
All pet-friendly suites are non-smoking and feature tile flooring, air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi. Availability is limited and subject to request.
Pet Policy Overview
We are pleased to welcome one dog or cat per reservation, with the following guidelines in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay for all guests:
- Pet Acceptance: One dog or cat per room for up to seven (7) nights. Maximum pet weight: 35 lbs. Official service dogs are exempt from this limit.
- Breed Restrictions: Aggressive breeds such as Doberman, Pit Bull, Chow Chow, and Rottweiler are not permitted. Please contact us with any questions about breed eligibility.
- Deposit Requirement: A refundable pet deposit of $250 USD is required at the time of booking. This deposit will be returned after a satisfactory room inspection at check-out.
- Pet Agreement: All guests with pets must sign a Pet Agreement (PDF)
during booking. - Special Requests: We are happy to consider longer stays or multiple pets on a case-by-case basis. Please email reservations@grandcaymanian.com for special arrangements.
What to Expect When You Bring Your Pet
To ensure the comfort and safety of all guests, please review the following guidelines:
In Your Suite
- Pets should not be allowed on furniture or beds.
- Pets may be left unattended in your suite only if crated or secured in a pet carrier.
- Pets should not be left alone for extended periods or overnight.
Public Areas
- Dogs must be leashed and under control at all times outside the suite.
- Pets (except official service animals) may only pass through public areas en route to your suite.
- Pets are not allowed in the Fitness Center, Meeting Rooms, or Swimming Pool area.
Housekeeping
- Please remove your pet or coordinate with the front desk before housekeeping services.
Waste Management
- Pets must be walked only in designated areas.
- Owners are required to clean up after pets. Complimentary waste bags are available at the front desk.
- Pets should not relieve themselves in landscaped gardens, lawns, or on the beach.
Responsibility & Conduct
- Guests are fully responsible for their pets’ behavior and safety.
- Excessive barking or disruptive behavior may result in guests being asked to vacate the resort.
- The resort assumes no liability for pets.

- Pet-Friendly Dining: Outdoor seating is available at Driftwood Bar & Grill, our on-site Caribbean restaurant.
- Recreation: Freshwater swimming pool, BBQ grilling stations, and shaded seating areas.
- Nearby Shopping: Walking distance to Cost-U-Less and Foster’s Food Fair IGA for pet supplies and essentials.
- Local Services: Our front desk can assist with referrals for veterinarians, groomers, and pet supply stores.
